Where The Wild Things Are

It actually feels like spring today in New York  but the beautiful weather is not helping my horrible case of Senioritis. Its just a few more weeks, I can do this!!! On another good note its the beggining of yard sale season and i'm pumped, I love sifting through old briefcases, plastic jewelry and frumpy sweaters. I get all excited even typing about the unloved treasures sitting in boxes right now just waiting to come home with me.

In the fashion blogosphere I have seen a bunch of monocromatic and matchy matchy looks. At first I was cautious of the style, thinking that it looked immature and that it doesn't take a lot of fashion sense to pair red with red. But ive grown to appreciate the boldness of a well thought out matchy look. My take on the style is very toned down and wearable, just pulling out two colors and accenting them. This style is a great way to display your attention to detail. When forming a matchy matchy look, the corresponding item's colors should be close to identical. Try limiting the entire outfit to only three colors and maintain a constant hue, my look plays on all burnt subdued colors.

Cattitude

So I might have looked up cat puns to name this look. Its beyond corny, I know. This Sheinside.com lace leopard sweater is so easy to style, nothing is easier than black and white! I illuminated the white cat on the sweater by adding white lace socks which pulls everything together. The black in the tights and the black felt hat tie into the sweater and add texture. You saw this skirt in my last haul post, its the perfect shade of maroon which is my favorite color for clothing at the moment. I have never owned a hat with a wide brim like this and I was afraid it would make me look like witch but i was wrong; I love the style it reminds me of Kim Kardashian (not that shes a fashion icon but shes still well dressed most of the time). For The Troops: Outfit of the day

My brother thats in the Airforce is visiting for the holiday. Recently i've been feeling thankful for my family's safety and have been thinking of all the military families who won't get to be together for the holidays. Stop and thank a service man or woman in your travels, your appreciation means the world to them! I love the camo trend it gives an effortless look to any outfit.  A manly print like camouflage contrasts nicely with feminine red lips. - Phoebe
